  1. Hi Darby.

I figured I'd respond back to the post you made at www.PasadenaPulse.net here so I could see what your blog looks like. In response to your question about blog setup and design, I use GoDaddy to host the free Wordpress.org tools. The only additions I made are a couple free plug-ins I added through the Wordpress.org dashboard (like WP Super Cache). I also switched the default theme to another free one I liked better.

After that, I bought two new fonts licenses, added them by copying and pasting some CSS code, tweaking it slightly. To make the custom fonts work better on Firefox I changeed the .htaccess file on my server.

Other than that, I just modified things using the Wordpress.org dashboard (including the CSS editor).

Since I already had a hosting account for another site on the same server, the only thing I had to buy were the fonts. If you don't need custom fonts, it's much simpler and quicker.

BlogSpot.com and WordPress.com don't give you as much control as Wordpress.org, but hosts like GoDaddy (and several other big ones I have heard of) make it very easy to use Wordpress.org.

Hope that answers your question and if you end up getting a WordPress.org site, I'll be happy to help. Best of luck with your blogging! :)
